Hyphenates Joe and Anthony Russo are developing the family drama “Life Briefly.”
The producers have obtained life rights from Brian Knapp, a blind Iowan who became a musical prodigy by age 13. The film will focus on the relationship between Knapp and his overbearing father. Brandon Willer has been tapped to pen the script.
The Russo brothers are co-directing “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and “Ciudad,” starring Dwayne Johnson, and are exec producers on NBC’s “Community” and ABC’s “Happy Endings.” Erika Armin, the Russos’ prexy of production, and John Gaps are also producing.
Willer penned “Cities of Refuge,” which made the 2011 Black List and was picked up by Inferno, with Benderspink, Tower Hill and Denver & Delilah attached to produce. Charlize Theron is attached to star. Willer is repped by WME and managed by Benderspink.
