Marketing exec Cheryl Boone Isaacs will join Don Mischer Prods. to produce the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ fourth annual Governors Awards, at which such kudos as the Honorary Award are potentially presented.
Boone Isaacs will share production duties with Mischer, Charlie Haykel and Julian Hare for the Dec. 1 event at Hollywood and Highland’s Ray Dolby Ballroom.
This year’s honorees, including possible recipients of the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, will be determined by the Academy’s board of governors in August.
A member of the Academy board’s public relations branch, Boone heads CBI Enterprises, through which she has consulted on films including recent Oscar winners “The Artist” and “The King’s Speech.” Previously, she was theatrical marketing prexy at New Line Cinema and worldwide publicity exec veep at Paramount Pictures.
“Cheryl’s vision, creativity and her love of movies and our Academy are the perfect foundation for honoring those who have given so much to our industry,” Academy prexy Tom Sherak said. “It’s also a pleasure to welcome back Don and his team, some of the most capable professionals in the business, who will give our honorees and guests an exciting and unforgettable evening.”
