IM Global walks on ‘Sunshine’

Pic stars Kylie Minogue, Gemma Arterton

IM Global has sold multiple markets to 3D musical “Walking on Sunshine” at AFM, a year after the project was first launched with Vertigo Entertainment producing.

Square One has acquired “Sunshine” for Germany; Eagle for Italy; Gaga for Japan; Paradise/MGN for Russia; Nordisk for Scandinavia; Entermode for Korea; Media Pro for Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic; Monolith for Poland; EIM for airlines; Impuls for Switzerland; Gulf Film for the Middle East; Applause for Taiwan and Golden Scene for Hong Kong.

The directors are Max and Dania, who directed both “Street Dance” movies. Story is set in Spain, where a couple is getting married in a coastal village and the bride has invited her sister — not knowing that she is an ex-holiday flame and the love of her life. Kylie Minogue and Gemma Arterton are attached.

“Distributors are responding to the film’s irrepressible feel good factor and ’80s nostalgia,” said IM Global topper Stuart Ford. “The film also has a terrific international feel and it’s the sort of movie audiences are craving in the current global climate.”
