Helmer has ‘Two Night Stand’

Max Nichols will make feature debut on indie rom-com

Music video director Max Nichols has been hired to make his feature debut with the indie romantic comedy “Two Night Stand,” which Beau Flynn and “Gangster Squad” director Ruben Fleischer are producing.

Flynn Picture Co., which acquired Mark Hammer’s script earlier this year, is producing “Two Night Stand” with Flynn Pictures’ Adam Yoelin exec producing. Hammer’s script, selected for last year’s Black List, follows a man and a woman trapped in his apartment after a one-night stand because of a terrible snowstorm outside — forcing them to get to know each other far more.

Flynn told Variety he’s aiming to begin production in the fall, adding that calls are coming in from reps seeking to cast clients in lead roles.

Flynn’s credits include “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” “The Rite,” and “Red Dawn,” which FilmDistrict has set for a Nov. 21 launch. He’s also developing a third “Journey” pic for New Line, where he’s based. Flynn’s most recent indie was “Choke.”
