Kenneth L. Halsband has been upped to prexy of physical and post-productionat Relativity Media, where he will continue to oversee the budgeting, physical production, post-production, and delivery for all of the studio’s films.
During his tenure at Relativity, Halsband has overseen physical production on such titles as “The Fighter,” “Immortals,” “Limitless” and “Dear John,” as well as the studio’s upcoming releases “21 and Over,” “Out of the Furnace” and “Safe Haven.”
“Ken has been extremely instrumental to our productions over the past several years. He is not only passionate about all of our films but his hard work ethic and focus on physical production and post-production has made him an outstanding executive on our team,” said Relativity prexy Tucker Tooley.
Halsband has been involved in Relativity’s active creation of new opportunities in states and countries that have a developing film industry and a potential for film rebate and tax incentives. As part of that effort, he was an integral member of the Relativity team that was behind the implementation of the recent increased film incentive program in Quebec.
Halsband joined Relativity as exec VP of physical and post-production in August 2007 with 20 years of film production experience. In 2006, he founded Finish Line Post, an independent technology lab and digital post-production company. Halsband began his career in the entertainment industry working at “Saturday Night Live” with the film unit. He worked in locations for several Woody Allen pics including “Mighty Aphrodite,” among others, before moving on to producing.
