‘Glee’s’ Jacob Artist flies with ‘White Bird’

Thesp will play Shailene Woodley's college boyfriend in Gregg Araki's drama

“Glee” star Jacob Artist is set to play Shailene Woodley’s love interest in Gregg Araki’s indie drama “White Bird,” which writer-director Araki is producing with Pascal Caucheteux and Sebastien Lemercier of Why Not Prods. (“Rust and Bone”).

Woodley stars as a troubled young woman whose life is upended following the disappearance of her mother (Eva Green).

Christopher Meloni co-stars alongside Angela Bassett, Shiloh Fernandez, Gabourey Sidibe, Mark Indelicato and Dale Dickey.

Artist will play Woodley’s boyfriend when she heads off to college.

Best known for playing Jake Puckerman on the current season of Fox’s “Glee” series, Artist is a trained dancer who has had supporting roles in the Lifetime movie “Blue Lagoon: The Awakening” and ABC Family’s “Melissa & Joey.” He’ll next be seen alongside Daryl Sabara and Katie Findlay in the indie drama “The Philosophers.”
