Gemma Arterton joins ‘Runner’ cast

Thesp to costar with Timberlake, Affleck in pic

Gemma Arterton has been cast alongside Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake in New Regency’s online gambling thriller “Runner Runner,” which Fox will distribute.

Timberlake plays a Princeton student cheated out of his tuition money playing online poker who ends up the right-hand man of the site’s corrupt boss (Affleck). Arterton plays Timberlake’s love interest.

Repped by CAA and Independent Talent, Arterton’s upcoming projects include the Par-MGM pic “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters,” the Weinstein Co. release “Song for Marion” and Neil Jordan’s “Byzantium.”

“Runner Runner,” helmed by Brad Furman (“The Lincoln Lawyer,” “The Take”), shoots in Puerto Rico from late June.

Producers include Appian Way’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Double Feature’s Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, as well as Brian Koppelman and David Levien.
