Film trio to finance ‘Bodies Saints’

Lagniappe, Paradox, Evolution to finance Lowery's thriller

Evolution Independent, Lagniappe and Paradox Entertainment have come onboard to finance David Lowery’s thriller “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,”  starring Rooney MaraCasey Affleck and Ben Foster.

Shooting began July 9 in Shreveport, La. Film centers on outlaws, played by Affleck and Mara, who are brought down by the law in the hills of Texas.

The financing was split three ways between Evolution Independent, Paradox Entertainment and Lagniappe. Producers are James Johnston and Toby Halbrook for Sailor Bear; Jay Van Hoy and Lars Knudsen for Parts & Labor; Amy Kaufman for Primary Prods. and Cassian Elwes for Evolution Independent.

Pic is exec produced by Mark Burg and Mike Menchel for Evolution, Daniel Wagner and Fredrik Malmberg for Paradox and Logan Levy and Jesse Kennedy for Lagniappe.

Nate Parker (“Red Tails”) and Keith Carradine have also been cast.

Lagniappe has recently wrapped principal photography on its first film, “A Case of You,” starring Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood, Brendan Fraser and Sienna Miller.
