Brooklyn-based distributor Factory 25 has picked up worldwide rights to Sophia Takal’s “Green,” skedding theatrical stints this fall prior to subsequent releases on VOD and DVD.

Written and directed by Takal, the pic has played fests including SXSW, the BAM Cinemafest and the Rooftop Film fest, picking up an award for female narrative director from SXSW and a Gotham nom for best film that has not yet secured distribution.

Storyline centers on a New York intellectual who moves with her journo boyfriend to the country, where her friendship with a female friend there is plagued by jealousy when her boyfriend also establishes a rapport with the other woman. Takal, Kate Lyn Sheil, Lawrence Michael Levine, Louis Cancelmi, Alex Ross Perry and Robert Malone star. Levine produces with co-producers Matthew L. Weiss and Robert Malone.
