Emma Thompson, is in final negotiations to join the cast of Alcon’s supernatural love story “Beautiful Creatures.”

She will join Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert as the leads and Viola Davis in a supporting tole. Thompson will play the dual role of a small town religious firebrand and the dark witch who possesses her.

Project’s based on first novel of a series written by Kami Carcia and Margaret Stohl. The film will be released by Warner Bros via Alcon’s output deal.

Alcon has film rights to all three books in the series published by Little Brown Books, including ”Beautiful Darkness,” and ”Beautiful Chaos.”

Erwin Stoff (”Water for Elephants,” ”I Am Legend”) will produce along with Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.

The coming of age story will start shooting in April in New Orleans. Story is set in the South about two star-crossed teenage lovers — a local boy, and a mysterious new girl who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town.

Thompson will next be seen in Sony’s “MIB3.”
