Paramount Pictures Eben Davidson has been named VP of acquisitions and production for the studio.

Davidson was a VP at the studio and will now add acquisitions to his current duties.

In his expanded role, Davidson will be in charge of acquiring films for distribution, as well as pursuing remake opportunities.

He will continue to report to Paramount’s Film Group president Adam Goodman.

“Eben has an innate sense of what we’re looking for, both in terms of pictures to pick up, and filmmakers to target,” said Goodman. “We can’t wait to see what he does with these new responsibilities.”

Davidson has worked on titles including “Footloose,” “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” and “Jackass 3D.” Some of Paramount’s recent acquisitions include last year’s Sundance pic “Like Crazy” via the Paramount Vantage banner and “The Devil Inside Me,” which bowed through the Insurge label.
