Davis Entertainment buys newbie script

California gov't worker John Drumm sells untitled thriller pitch

Tyro scribe John Drumm has sold an untitled thriller pitch to John Davis’ shingle Davis Entertainment.

Drumm will write the script himself, though plot details are being kept under wraps. Davis will produce the feature project, which his company purchased through its Fox-based discretionary fund.

Pitch marks the first sale for Drumm, who works for the government in Davis, Calif.

Davis, who recently produced Josh Trank’s sleeper hit “Chronicle” for 20th Century Fox, is developing the studio’s untitled “Frankenstein” project with “Chronicle” scribe Max Landis.

Drumm is repped by his brother Tom Drumm, a manager at the Safran Co. who had three scripts on last year’s Black List: “The Imitation Game,” “2 Night Stand” and “Leaving Pete.”
