“How I Met Your Mother” may be keeping her busy on TV, but Cobie Smulders is landing some notable bigscreen roles.
Thesp is set to join Relativity’s “Safe Haven,” starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough, as well as Lionsgate’s “They Came Together,” starring Paul Rudd.
Lasse Hallstrom is directing “Safe Haven” from a script by Dana Stevens and Les Bohem. Story follows a young woman whose arrival in a small North Carolina town prompts its tight-knit community to question her mysterious past. Smulders will play a neighbor.
David Wain helms “They Came Together,” in which Smulders will play Rudd’s girlfriend. Amy Poehler also stars.
Though she has been busy with “HIMYM,” Smulders has started to get more recognition in the film realm. The UTA- and ROAR-repped actress was most recently seen as Agent Maria Hill in Marvel and Disney’s “The Avengers.”
