Bron Studios is launching production next year on “Sole Mates,” its first CG-animated feature, based on an original concept by Deon Taylor.

Bron’s managing director, Aaron L. Gilbert, will produce with Taylor, the latter through his Hidden Empire Film Group. Ahmet Zappa will also produce through his Monsterfoot Prods. Roxanne Avent of Hidden Empire exec produces.

Story concerns a journey of love lost and found but beyond that the logline is under wraps.

The creative team will be led by Taylor. It includes Zappa, who wrote and produced “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” and Bron’s Adam Wood, who recently served as animation director on “Escape From Planet Earth.”

Canada-based Bron Studios announced in June that it was launching an animated unit to develop and produce original properties for TV and film with an emphasis on absurd comedies with an edgy tone that parents will also enjoy. It’s in production on a pair of “Mighty Mighty Monsters” specials, based on the book series written and created by Sean Patrick O’Reilly.

Taylor’s credits include “Chain Letter,” “The Hustle” and “Supremacy.” He is represented by WME.
