Benaroya Pictures has come onboard with Goalpost Pictures Australia and Blue-Tongue Films to produce “Felony,” a drama starring Joel Edgerton and directed by Matthew Saville.
Deal was announced at AFM on Monday, coinciding with the start of production in Australia.
“Felony” was unveiled at Cannes, with Edgerton starring, writing and producing.
Michael Benaroya of Benaroya Pictures and Rosemary Blight (“The Sapphires”) of Goalpost Pictures Australia will produce. Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson are exec producing for Solution Entertainment Group.
Tom Wilkinson, Jai Courtney and Melissa George also star.
Village Roadshow has taken Australian domestic rights, and Joel Pearlman and Seph McKenna are exec producing. CAA represents domestic distribution rights.
Story centers on a trio of detectives embroiled in a tense struggle after a tragic accident that leaves a child in a coma.
Edgerton will be seen next in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Great Gatsby.”
