Enlivened by the film’s best picture win at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, “The Artist” cast members clowned around backstage at the Paladium, obliging photogs with every conceivable pose short of a human pyramid before answering reporters’ questions.
“There are so many beautiful people here I have to force myself not to ask for autographs,” said Michel Hazanavicius, who also took home the helmer honor Thursday night.
But leave it to producer Judd Apatow, who won the comedy prize for “Bridesmaids,” to strike back at critics who may have spurned him in the past. “There is no afterparty. Are you aware of that? That’s how fucking cheap these people are,” he joked before the Palladium aud.
Apatow must not have been clued into the fete down the street at Boulevard3, where house band Licorice entertained the “Bridesmaids” crowd, including Paul Feig and Wendi McLendon-Covey.
