There was a festive mood at Hollywood club East on Thursday night as Radius-TWC toppers Tom Quinn and Jason Janego celebrated the premiere of the company’s debut release “Bachelorette.”
The raunchy, female-driven comedy was written and directed by Leslye Headland, a first-time filmmaker who worked as Harvey Weinstein’s assistant long before Radius-TWC acquired her debut pic out of Sundance earlier this year.
Thesp Isla Fisher hinted at debauchery at the wildest bachelorette party she’s seen, but declined to disclose details. “I can’t tell a story because it was my mother’s bachelorette party and I organized it, but let’s just say, strippers and women over 50 don’t go hand in hand.”
Produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum of Gary Sanchez Prods., the wedding-themed “Bachelorette” had been in development long before “Bridesmaids” hit theaters, though it gained new momentum when the latter pic became a box office hit.
“When Will and Adam started Gary Sanchez it was really to do stuff like this and ‘Casa de mi padre,’ to give (new) filmmakers a chance and also do stuff that just makes them laugh,” said Elbaum.
