Andrew Haas joins Baron Cohen’s shingle

Exec will work with Todd Schulman at Paramount-based Four By Two

EXCLUSIVE: After three years as president of production at DeLine Pictures, Andrew Haas has left to join Todd Schulman at Sacha Baron Cohen’s production shingle Four By Two Films, where he’ll begin Oct. 1.

The company, based at Paramount Pictures, recently produced “The Dictator,” which has grossed over $175 million worldwide. During his tenure at Donald De Line’s DeLine Pictures, Haas exec produced such comedies as “I Love You, Man” and “Observe and Report.”

Among the projects in development at Four By Two is an untitled spy spoof that Baron Cohen and Phil Johnston recently sold as a pitch to Paramount. Story follows a James Bond-esque spy who is forced to go on the run with his long-lost brother, a moronic soccer hooligan.

Haas will work with Schulman to continue developing internal projects as well as search for fresh material.

Baron Cohen recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo” and will next be seen amongst the star-studded ensemble of Tom Hooper’s musical “Les Miserables,” which Universal will release Christmas Day. He’s also attached to play Queen singer Freddie Mercury for GK Films.
