Worldview boards Eli Roth’s ‘Green Inferno’

Worldview Entertainment has signed on to finance and produce Eli Roth chiller “The Green Inferno.”

Roth co-wrote the screenplay from his original idea with “Aftershock” co-writer Guillermo Amoedo.

Roth will direct and produce alongside Worldview CEO Christopher Woodrow, COO Molly Conners and Sobras Intl. producers Miguel Asensio Llamas and Nicolas Lopez.

Story details on the pic, Roth’s directorial follow-up to the “Hostel” franchise, are under wraps.

Exclusive Media has picked up international sales for the pic and will shop it at the Cannes this week.

CAA is repping domestic rights.

Production will begin in fall in Peru and and Chile, where Roth recently produced earthquake thriller “Aftershock.”

Worldview is in production on titles creating a buzz in Cannes, including Guillaume Canet’s crime thriller “Blood Ties,” starring Clive Owen and Billy Crudup, and an untitled James Gray pic toplining Marion Cotillard and Joaquin Phoenix.

The company is also financing Atom Egoyan’s West Memphis Three biopic “Devil’s Knot,” starring Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth.
