Tom Wilkinson has joined the thriller “Felony” opposite Joel Edgerton with production starting in late October.

Wilkinson’s attachment was announced Saturday at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival by The Solution Entertainment Group’s Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel, and producers Rosemary Blight of Goalpost Pictures Australia and Edgerton for Blue-Tongue Films.

Project was unveiled at Cannes with Edgerton coming on to topline and Matthew Saville directing from Edgerton’s script.

Story centers on a decorated police officer (Edgerton) driving home after a celebration drink with his team after the long waited bust of a major gang, and running a young cyclist off the road. As he gives CPR to the child, fellow officers arrive to take his statement — and he tells them a lie about the accident which will change all their lives.

Wilkinson was seen earlier this year in “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and will appear next in “The Lone Ranger.”

Edgerton is in “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” and will be seen next in “Zero Dark Thirty.”

Blight  most recently produced “The Sapphires.”
