LONDON — London-based sales outfit Protagonist Pictures enjoyed a robust Sundance this year, completing a raft of international sales on “Searching for Sugar Man” and “The Imposter.”

“Searching for Sugar Man,” a docu about the obscure iconic rock icon Rodriguez, was snapped up by ARP for Gaul, in addition to previously announced deals for U.S. (Sony Pictures Classics), Blighty (Studiocanal) and Oz (Madman).

Protagonist co-repped the pic with Josh Braun’s Submarine.

Bart Layton’s “The Imposter,” a docu about a Frenchman who convinces a grieving Texas family that he is their missing teenage son, was also scooped up by Diaphana for Gaul and Madman for Oz and New Zealand.

As previously reported on Friday, Revolver Ent. and Picturehouse Ent. joined forces to acquire U.K. rights to the docu.

North American rights on the pic are being handled by Submarine and CAA, who are in discussion with U.S. buyers.

“Searching for Sugar Man” is produced by Simon Chinn and exec produced by John Battsek.

“The Imposter” was produced by Dimitri Doganis. Film4 exec produced.
