Rosamund Pike and Christopher Plummer are set to co-star with Simon Pegg in the indie “Hector and the Search for Happiness.”

Peter Chelsom will helm from a script he co-wrote with Tinker Lindsay.

Pic is based on the Francois Lelord tome about a psychiatrist who searches the globe to find the secret of happiness. Pike will play the psychiatrist’s girlfriend and Plummer will play a UCLA professor and leading guru for Happiness Studies.

The pic is German/Canadian co-production produced by Judy Tossell of Egoli Tossell Film and Christine Haebler Screen Siren Pictures. Wild Bunch Germany are co-producing and distributing in German-speaking Europe and Entertainment One have acquired all rights for Canada.

Solution Entertainment Group is handling international rights to the film and will be selling to buyers in Toronto. UTA are representing US rights.

Before the pic starts production, both Pegg and Pike will lense Working Title and Focus’ “At World’s End.”

Pike can be seen next in Paramount’s “Jack Reacher.” Plummer was most recently seen in Sony’s “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”

She is repped by UTA, Magnolia Entertainment and United Agents. Plummer is repped by ICM, The Pitt Group and Markham, Froggatt and Irwin.
