Indomina has snapped up North American rights for dramatic thriller “LUV,” which preemed in competition at Sundance earlier this year.

Pic, which is helmed by Sheldon Candis and written by Candis and Justin Wilson, follows the story of a timid, 11-year old orphan who dreams of a better life and reveres his street-hustling uncle as a father figure he never had.

As his uncle’s old life of crime returns to haunt him, the coming-of-age tale sees the boy soon start to doubt his hero and ultimately have to decide which road to take in his life.

Indomina has tentatively set a fall theatrical release, followed by a broadcast preem on BET, which has acquired television rights exclusive in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and certain ancillary rights on other platforms.

International rights are being represented by Eric Christenson of Hollywood Studios International, with the film screening this week at the European Film Market.
