Goldwyn plans a spring 2013 release.
Bourdos is returning to Cannes for the first time since 1998 with his first feature “Disparus.” Olivier Delbosc and Marc Missonnier are the producers with Christine De Jekel exec producing while Vincent Rottiers and Christa Theret star.
“Renoir” is set in the Côte d’Azur in 1915 — Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s twilight years, when he is tormented by the loss of his wife, and the news that his son Jean has been wounded in action. But when a young girl enters his world, the old painter is filled with a new energy, inspiring some of Renoir’s most renowned works including “Les baigneuses” (The Bathers”) — and leading to his battle-shaken son growing into a renowned filmmaker.
Ian Puente and Peter Goldwyn negotiated the deal with Carole Baraton and Antoine Zylberberg of Wild Bunch.
