Paul Giamatti, Paul Rudd and Sally Hawkins are set to star in “Junebug” helmer Phil Morrison’s “Lucky Dog.”
HanWay Films is handling international sales on “Dog,” which begins lensing next month in New York City, and will introduce the project in Berlin.
Story, based on an original script by Melissa James Gibson, revolves around two French-Canadian con men whose friendship has recently become strained, who set aside their differences and travel to the U.S. on a get-rich quick plan to sell Christmas trees in New York.
Dan Carey and Elizabeth Giamatti will produce the pic through their Touchy Feely Films banner.
Pic is being financed by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, Greenestreet Films and HanWay.
Kimmel and Greenstreet’s John Penotti will also produce, with Michael Hogan and Jim Tauber exec producing. UTA reps U.S. rights for the pic.
