Sony’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” reboot collected $7.5 million from approximately 3,150 midnight locations Monday — the same late-night figure that “Spider-Man 3” earned in 2007.

Imax contributed $1.2 million from 300 locations, averaging $4,000 per screen.

“Spider-Man” ranks among fine company for midnights, as Paramount’s 2009 “Star Trek” re-launch grossed $7 million, as did the first “Twilight” pic in 2008. “Iron Man 2” did the same in midnights as “Spider-Man.”

None of those films (including “Spider-Man 3,” which earned $151 million in three days) opened over the Fourth of July frame, and all of them bowed on a Friday. Pre-weekend tracking for “Spider-Man,” which bows today at 4,315 locations, suggests the film can earn between $110 million and $120 million in six days. Though more bullish bizzers are predicting a bow north of $150 million.

Pic’s legs over the long holiday will depend greatly on word-of-mouth; “Spider-Man” so far has received mostly positive mentions.

Paramount, meanwhile, sneaked “Katy Perry: Part of Me” at 100 locations Monday night, yielding approximately $200,000. Pic’s early screenings were meant to jumpstart online chatter among Perry’s most hardcore fans before the film’s nationwide launch on Thursday.
