Conversations with Gary Oldman and George Clooney will be part of the 23rd annual Palm Springs Intl. Film Festival Talking Pictures lineup, which focuses on the films and faces emerging in this year’s Oscar race.

International Star Award recipient Oldman will participate in a Q&A with Variety’s Tim Gray following a screening of “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” while Chairman’s Award recipient Clooney will participate in a Q&A following a screening of “Ides of March,” the festival announced Thursday.

“The opportunity to engage in extended conversations with filmmaking talents about their current and past work provides a forum for audiences to more fully appreciate the work involved, and gain a better understanding of the creative process,” said festival director Darryl Macdonald.

Fest also announced three additional film premieres and its Archival Treasures series, which director Marc Cousins will curate.

The additional premieres are the U.K.’s “The Story of Film: An Odyssey,” France’s “War of the Buttons” and Hong Kong’s “Dragon (Wu Xia),” which are all making their Stateside debuts.

The Archival Treasures series will include “Brightness” (Mali/Burkina Faso, France, 1987), “Cairo Station” (Egypt, 1958), “The Conformist” (Italy/France, Germany, 1970), “The Goddess” (India, 1960) and “The Record of a Tenement Gentleman” (Japan, 1947).
