Deluxe’s Company 3, Korea’s Mofac set up ‘virtual outpost’

New platform will offer color grading for regional clients

U.S. post group Company 3 has joined forces with South Korean post facility Mofac Studio to create a “virtual outpost” where Company 3’s artists will help provide color grading services for regional clients.

Korea-based productions working through Mofac will be able to collaborate in real time with Company 3 artists, made possible through the perfect calibration of networked displays. Company 3, which has colorists in Santa Monica, Atlanta, New York and London, is no stranger to the system: The post house has almost 20 other “virtual outposts” around the world.

“For years, I have spoken with colleagues about how exciting it would be to have the same kind of connectivity in our business that the Internet has brought to so much else,” said Mofac CEO Jang Seong Ho. “Our clients can now work with the best colorists in the world virtually without having to travel outside the city.”
