Americans Elect is gathering signatures to get an independent candidate on the ballot in all 50 states, hoping to break the partisanship that has plagued the two major political parties. Unlike past efforts to break the monopoly on the system, Americans Elect is driven by an innovative way of selecting a nominee via the Internet.
