Here’s the latest — and not the last — Colbert SuperPAC spot that is airing in Charleston, S.C. Another spot is expected on Thursday. This one takes aim at negative ads — and includes an exploding atomic bomb. That in and of itself is a reference to one of the most famous negative ads of all time, Lyndon Johnson’s 1964 Daisy ad that was used against Barry Goldwater. “Donate today and we’ll destroy both these guys and their super PACs with the merciless ad torrent so fierce they’ll wish they’d never been incorporated,” the narrator of the Colbert spot says. “An orgy of pure distortion leaving nothing behind but the clean campaign we all deserve.”

By the way, the name of the Colbert SuperPAC has been changed to the Definitely Not Coordinating with Stephen Colbert SuperPAC.
