Women's Impact Report 2012: Executives

Antonellis, who oversaw the creation of the world’s first corporate anti-piracy operation, was given the Innovative Leader Award by the National Assn. of Software and Services in 2012, and helped in the launch of UltraViolet, the ambitious cloud-based movie storage plan, in late 2011. This year she oversaw the completion of the industry’s first end-to-end distribution pipeline that supports all of Warner Bros. distrib needs with its content partners worldwide.

What we should know: “Our industry is known for creativity in entertainment and media throughout the world. What’s exciting for us is that creativity spans across many areas in our industry and that includes the digital arena and that’s something we want to highlight.”

Words of wisdom: “The best thing is to understand some of (the entertainment business’) core components, like film and TV production and game creation. They’re some of the fundamental components. If you look at the six majors we have a vast set of assets, whether it’s broadcast channels, sports participation. I think looking at all those areas might be a way to identify something of interest that’s not something people typically consider.”

Smartphone on vacation? “I do, but I will tell you that this past summer we had a big, extended vacation with the family. Certainly the office knows that if it’s Defcon 5 (call) but you realize that it’s important to take a step away and rejuvenate. So I was good about getting off the grid, as we say, during that time.”

Work week: “The weeks can be anything from a typical work week to double those hours.”

Work-life balance: “For me, my short list starts with my family and ensuring time to take care of myself physically and time for family and friends. And it isn’t always a linear calculation. Sometimes you make sacrifices one way and other times you make sacrifices the other way.”

Charitable passions: “Kidsave is an organization that helps place kids 6 to 16 into loving families and it’s near and dear to my heart. I’ve adopted two children from Bogota, Colombia, as teenagers through the program and I’m now on their board.”
