Matthew Erramouspe, partner, entertainment, sports & media, O’Melveny & Myers

Dealmakers Impact Report 2012: Legal Eagles

Erramouspe assisted Ryan Seacrest Productions in negotiating the sale of a minority stake to radio giant Clear Channel in January and is also advising Seacrest in “establishing businesses outside his on-air and on-screen activities.” The latter means growing the Ryan Seacrest brand, and acquiring or investing in strategic and complementary businesses. Earlier this month, Seacrest’s investment arm bought a majority stake in marketing services agency Civic Entertainment. A one-person company “is normally not the easiest thing to finance,” Erramouspe says. “But people are willing to bet on him because he’s a compelling businessman and personality.” Erramouspe has ties to Harvey and Bob Weinstein dating back to 1998 when they operated Miramax; he later repped them in their separation from Walt Disney Co. In recent years, he’s remained at the side of the brothers at their the Weinstein Co., assisting on corporate financing and on output distribution deals. He also works with Warner Bros., Sony, MGM and Elliott Management.
