Williams’ newsmag named ‘Rock Center’

NBC yet to set start date

Brian Williams’ much-discussed upcoming live newsmagazine has a name: “Rock Center With Brian Williams.” The weekly hourlong is set to premiere in primetime later this season, although it doesn’t yet have a start date or a timeslot.

Led by Williams, the broadcast will feature NBC News talent including Harry Smith and Kate Snow. Katie Boyle moved from CBS to the Peacock to exec produce the new show; former CNNer Jay Kernis will serve as a producer.

“Hopefully, our journalism will speak louder than any name,” said Williams in a release on Monday morning. “If it doesn’t, perhaps people will tune in to ‘Rock Center’ hoping to see Tina Fey.”
