With an initial public offering in its future, U.S. Hispanic media conglom Univision Communications has upped a troika of long-serving execs.
Maelia Macin becomes executive VP of network sales for Univision Networks. Macin, who has been with Univision since 1992, most recently was senior VP and regional director of the southwest region for Univision Local Media.
Peter Lazarus has been upped to executive VP of sales strategy for new networks. Lazarus will work with the networks and the distribution, sales and marketing teams. Lazarus joined Univision in January 2008 and merged three sales teams into one to represent the overall Univision Networks offering.
Macin and Lazarus are based in Gotham and will report to David Lawenda, prexy of Univision advertising sales and marketing.
Alberto Mier y Teran has been named VP/general manager for Univision’s flagship stations in Los Angeles, where he will be based. He will report to Univision local media prexy Peter Walker.
Mier y Teran’s 10-year tenure at Univision includes serving as VP and G.M. for WGBO Univision 66 and WXFT TeleFutura 60 in Chicago.
