TruTV has promoted Marc Juris to exec veep and chief operating officer, a reward for his oversight of the channel’s programming, marketing, advertising and strategic planning.

“Marc is a talented and innovative executive whose understanding of branding, marketing and programming have been vital in building the truTV brand,” said Turner Entertainment Networks prexy Steve Koonin, to whom Juris reports.

A former senior veep of original programming and general manager at AMC, Juris came to his current network in 2004 during its Court TV days. As EVP and general manager, he helped oversee its 2008 transition to TruTV, opening the door for such original series as “Hardcore Pawn” and “Operation Repo.” The network has had its best ever year in adult and male demos in 2011.

“We’ve worked hard to build a popular lineup of original programming and a brand that grows stronger every day,” Juris said.

Juris has also held positions at Fuse Networks, King World and CBS.
