TCA: And we’re off!

Bettywhitetvland1 Any event that kicks off with a panel featuring Betty White can’t be all bad.

The winter edition of the Television Critics Assn. press tour kicks off in Pasadena today with seshes for TV Land’s hit laffer “Hot in Cleveland” — which is fortified by White and fellow sitcom vets Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick — and its upcoming companion piece, “Retired at 35,” which features the great George Segal.

The long march of panels and parties at Pasadena’s Langham Hotel (it’ll always be the Huntington to us old-timers) runs through Jan. 15, when FX calls last call.

Watch this space for copious bloggage and tweeting. Also on deck with seshes today are Spike TV, Comedy Central (promo’ing its “Onion SportsDome” series, which looks like fun), TV Guide Network, National Geographic Channel, TV One Network, Weather Channel (can’t wait to see our dear friend Shirley Powell, exec veep of communications), ESPN and evening party hosted by the good folks at Comcast.

Stay tuned.
