Antena 3 pacts on SPT movies
Sony Pictures Television has inked an exclusive, free-to-air, first-run feature deal with Spanish commercial network Antena 3.
The three-year pact gives DeAPlaneta-controlled Antena 3 rights to half of the movies released theatrically by Sony for 2009-2011. It includes “Angels and Demons,” “The Tourist” and “Eat Pray Love.” Antena 3 has four TV channels in Spain. — Emiliano de Pablos

PictureBox opens
Movies-on-demand subscription service PictureBox, backed by Universal Pictures, has bowed its streaming service, PictureBox Player, in the U.K. and Ireland.
Service is available on Samsung Internet-connected smart TVs, iPads and PCs. More roll-outs are planned for PictureBox Player, which provides subscribers with 28 movies on-demand per week.
Sony U.K. web set
Sony Pictures Television will bow its first branded web in the U.K., Sony Entertainment Television, on pay TV platform BSkyB on April 7. Web will target women in the 25-54 age range with fare such as drama “Huff” and “Til Death.” — Steve Clarke
