Rebecca Arbogast is joining Comcast as VP of global public policy in the conglom’s D.C. office.
Arbogast has been managing director at Stifel Financial, where she focuses on legal and regulatory issues affecting media, communications and technology companies.
Arbogast will report to Kyle McSlarrow, president of Comcast/NBCU for Washington.
Arbogast joined the Stifel Nicolaus research team in 2005, when Legg Mason’s Capital Markets Group was acquired by Stifel. She had been with Legg Mason since 2001 and previously served as chief of the FCC’s international bureau telecommunications division. She also served in the office of legal counsel at the Justice Dept.
She is the latest high-profile hire in Comcast’s lobbying operation. McSlarrow joined in the spring after heading the National Cable & Telecommunications Assn., and Meredith Attwell Baker joined in the summer as senior VP of government affairs for NBCU after serving as a commissioner of the FCC.
