Reality chief for NBCUniversal Cable

Dolcemaschio migrates from E! COO role

NBCUniversal Cable has named E! chief operating officer Steve Dolcemaschio as prexy of its reality studio.

Dolcemaschio will oversee the division, currently known as Comcast Entertainment Studios but set to be renamed early next year. He will transition out of his E! role, which he has held for six years, over the next several months.

Comcast Entertainment Studios has developed and produced such programs as “The Soup,” “Fashion Police” and “Ice Loves Coco” for E!, “Giuliana and Bill” for Style and “Baggage” for GSN. Development exec VP Jay James will report to Dolcemaschio.

Dolcemaschio joined E! in 2000 and has overseen numerous areas of the company’s business, from production and tech operations to business and legal affairs. Previously, he was COO and chief financial officer for BBDO West in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

“From the moment I began working with Steve, I’ve been impressed by his business skills and his operational savvy,” said NBCU Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios chair Bonnie Hammer. “He’s the perfect person to help grow the studio into an even more vital resource for innovative programming both inside and outside the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment family.”
