Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist Industries just got nerdier, joining in an equity partnership with online pop culture newsletter GeekChicDaily.

Deal will have Nerdist provide GeekChicDaily with new content while also giving the daily newsletter some high-profile promotion across its various platforms.

Nerdist oversees a popular blog at Nerdist.com, produces a podcast on iTunes and, in May, inked a deal with BBC America to adapt the show as a TV series that Hardwick will host. Separately, Penguin Group will publish “The Nerdist Way” in November.

Nerdist Industries also produced the animated pilot “Hard N Phirm’s Musical Time Hole” for IFC.

Hardwick hosts G4’s “Web Soup” series, a take-off of E!’s “Talk Soup,” and reviews games for G4’s “Attack of the Show.”

GeekChicDaily co-founder Peter Levin said the deal was a way to increase the newsletter’s traffic and reach as it looks to expand its coverage of films, TV shows, videogames, comicbooks, toys and collectibles.

Added GeekChic investor and board member Peter Guber, “What Chris has created with the Nerdist brand and voice maps incredibly well onto our aspirations for the business.”

Deal is the latest expansion for GeekChic after lining up a strong list of investors and advisers that includes Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull, Joe Roth and Bob Pittman.

Said Hardwick: “I envision a Nerdtopia where video games are free, Cheetos are currency, and robot concubines sate our sexual thirsts. I am confident that Peter Levin, his brain-trust of genius partners and their combined business acumen will provide the infrastructure to help me accomplish this.”

Alex Murray of Brillstein Entertainment Partners repped Hardwick and Nerdist Industries in the deal.
