Nancy Grace reups at HLN

Deal emerges after Fox Business talks fizzled

Word has gotten out that HLN’s popular 8 p.m. host Nancy Grace quietly reupped with the cable newsie for a multiyear deal last fall, after talks with News Corp.’s Fox Business Network fell through.

Grace is arguably the face most closely associated with HLN and one of the biggest hires for former net honcho Ken Jautz, who now runs CNN after ex-prexy Jonathan Klein’s ouster last year. “Nancy Grace” regularly outpaces competish on its sister net (CNN runs “Parker Spitzer” in the timeslot) and sometimes bests “Countdown With Keith Olbermann,” as well.

Grace is friendly with Fox News Channel, where she has appeared to promote her books and syndie skein “Swift Justice.”

Emmys' In Memoriam Shows Photo of Living Composer Instead of Andre Previn

Any “In Memoriam” segment on an awards show results in immediate viewer furor over which recently deceased figures got left out. TV Review: 'Bluff City Law'

As a legal procedural emanating from outside the imaginings of Dick Wolf, “Bluff City Law” at least represents something novel for NBC.
