Fox News promotes Jay Wallace

Network vet named VP of news, senior exec producer

Fox News Channel has promoted Jay Wallace to VP of news and senior exec producer of news and politics, the net announced on Wednesday.

The dual role will have many responsibilities: as news veep, Wallace will assist in overseeing strategic planning and managing of the news division. As senior e.p. of news and politics, he will oversee the net’s special political programming, on top of his responsibility for all news shows’ daily production.

“Jay has proven himself to be a talented producer and respected leader within FNC,” said news editorial senior v.p. Michael Clemente. “His consistent performance and experience will continue to be a valued asset to the network.”

Wallace, who has been with the net since its 1996 inception, moves to the position from his role as VP of news editorial product, where he worked from June of 2008. He’s also held the titles of New York bureau chief, producer and e.p. on “Fox Report with Shepard Smith,” and exec producer of news.
