Fight Now TV launches on Cablevision

New network to air all things boxing, MMA

Cablevision has a fight on its hands.

MSO is set to launch Fight Now TV exclusively in the New York metropolitan area. New network will debut May 24 and carry mixed martial arts, boxing, wrestling, kickboxing and other combat sports.

Network is the brainchild of Mike Garrow, Cal Miller and Romen Podzyhum. Garrow will serve as the channel’s g.m.

“Combat sports events happen 52 weeks in the year. There is no off season in the fight game,” Garrow said. “We offer it all on one dedicated channel.”

Among the shows to air weekdays are “Talking Boxing With Billy C,” “MMA Junkie Radio Live” and “News Hitz.” Weekends will include “Fight Central,” which will preview pay-per-view events.

Network is planning to expand distribution beyond the Gotham area over the next few months. Former UFC champion and MMA fighter Randy Couture will serve as both a spokesman and analyst for the channel.
