ESPN pulls ‘Monday Night Football’ song

Move made after Williams equates Obama with Hitler

ESPN opted to cut its “Monday Night Football” intro sung by Hank Williams Jr. after the singer compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler.

On Monday morning’s “Fox & Friends” on Fox News Channel, Williams made the comparison in reference to the golf outing between House Speaker John Boehner and President Obama. “It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK? They’re the enemy! Obama and Biden! Are you kiddin’ me, the Three Stooges!”

It was an awkward moment, to say the least. “I don’t understand that analogy, actually,” Fox News personality Brian Kilmeade said diplomatically on air. The exchange only lasted a couple of minutes, but another Fox host, Gretchen Carlson, jumped in at the end of the seg to “disavow the analogy between Hitler and the president.”

In a statement, ESPN said: “We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”
