Entertainment One has pacted with writer-helmer Paul W.S. Anderson to develop a supernatural drama series dubbed “The Reel.”

Project was brought to the Canuck production-distribution outfit by tyro scribe Adam D’Alba, who created the concept and penned the initial script that piqued the interest of Anderson and Jeremy Bolt, who have previously collaborated on the “Resident Evil” pics.

Anderson and Bolt will exec produce with eOne’s John Morayniss, Noreen Halpern and Michael Rosenberg.

“Reel” is in the “Blair Witch Project” vein in revolving around a young documaker searching for evidence of the supernatural. Show is envisioned as a mix of serial and procedural elements, with the protag tackling a case a week while a larger mystery unfolds throughout the season.

“Adam D’Alba’s vision for the show and the opportunity to partner with Anderson and Bolt made it impossible not to jump onboard this project,” said Halpern, prexy of dramatic programming for eOne Television.

There’s no word of a network attached yet, but it’s likely that eOne will shop the series to domestic and international buyers in order to land a sizable episode commitment upfront rather than just a pilot order.
