Disney XD has ordered live-action comedy “Lab Rats” to series, with a 2012 premiere scheduled.

“That ’70s Show” vets Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore created the series and will exec produce with “’70s” co-creator Mark Brazill for longtime Disney provider It’s a Laugh Prods. Shooting is to begin in Hollywood in September.

Lab Rats” will feature Tyrel Jackson Williams (“Everybody Hates Chris”), Billy Unger (“You Again”), Spencer Boldman (“I’m in the Band”), Kelli Berglund (“Hip Hop Harry”) and Hal Sparks (“Talk Soup”).

Disney XD is eyeing the series as a companion for “Kickin’ It,” which premiered last month. In “Lab Rats,” three teen super-humans try to be normal high school kids.
