Disney and European online film and TV subscription service Lovefilm have inked a distribution pact in Germany.
Under the deal, Lovefilm, akin to Netflix in the U.S., will offer a portfolio of Disney pics that German subscribers will be able to rent and stream via the Lovefilm Player on PCs, in-home connected devices or the PlayStation 3.
In April Lovefilm became Disney’s first U.K. subscription VOD provider outside of pay TV. Recent releases such as “Tron: Legacy,” “Tangled” and “I Am Number Four” will be available instantly for members online via Lovefilm’s pay-per-view service.
“Gnomeo and Juliet,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Cars 2” are among titles that will follow this year.
