Discovery promotes PR execs

Goldberg, Hillman upped in communications division

Discovery has made two moves on the praisery front.

Laurie Goldberg is now exec VP for both Discovery and TLC. As head of communications for TLC for past three years, she worked on the campaigns for series that include “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” “Sister Wives” and “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.”

“In her short time with TLC, Laurie has taken her expertise in brand management and media relations and transformed the network into a pop culture powerhouse,” said Eileen O’Neill, group president of Discovery and TLC Networks, and to whom Goldberg reports. “She has been on the front lines throughout television’s most riveting programming events, guiding the brand with thoughtful and strategic leadership.”

Also, Elizabeth Hillman will now be senior VP of international communications for Discovery’s 140 global nets and business operations. Former senior VP of communications for Discovery, where she worked on “Life” and “Planet Earth,” Hillman will report to David Leavy, exec VP of corporate affairs and global communications.
