CBS adds more ‘Rules’ in Sheen’s absence

Network orders two additional episodes of 'Engagement'

CBS has ordered two additional episodes of Monday night sitcom “Rules of Engagement” as a hedge against the possible loss of “Two and a Half Men.”

The Eye’s top sitcom has two unaired “Men” episodes in the can, but hasn’t determined when they’ll be broadcast. According to CBS’ website, a new episode titled “Three Hookers and a Philly Cheesesteak” is scheduled to air on Monday, but that may be changed.

The net hasn’t decided if it will also order extra episodes of other Monday night skeins, including “Mike & Molly,” “How I Met Your Mother” or “Mad Love,” which is set to debut Feb. 14.

Warner Bros.’ “Two and a Half Men” is currently on hiatus after Charlie Sheen announced he was entering rehabilitation Friday. CBS ordered 24 episodes, with 16 already having been shot.

“Rules” will now increase its season order from 24 to 26 episodes.
