Attorneys Leslie and Cliff Gilbert-Lurie are among showbiz’s most active power couples when it comes to philanthropic, service and civic endeavors. That dedication will be saluted Wednesday when the pair receive the Ira E. Yellin Community Leadership Award from the American Jewish Committee.

Education and children’s rights are among the many causes and orgs championed by the couple. Leslie has served on the Los Angeles County Board of Education for 14 years. Cliff, a partner in the Ziffren Brittenham firm, has been a major supporter and member of the board of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

The pair have long been prime movers behind the Alliance for Children’s Rights, which Leslie helped launch in 1992. The org provides free legal services and advocacy support for underprivileged and abused youths in L.A. County.

The focus on aiding kids in need is a natural inclination for the couple, who have three children. Leslie and her mother, Rita Lurie, co-wrote the 2009 book “Bending Towards the Sun” about Rita’s experiences as a child during the Holocaust.

Dick Wolf, a longtime client of Cliff’s, will be on hand Wednesday at the Skirball Cultural Center to present the kudo. Caring Couple
